Medicinal Plants in Dantewada District

We Are Thankful to Mr. B.L.Bharat Retd. Forest Officer, who had benevolently provided us this precious information. Mr. Bharat had studied the medicinal plants of this region thoroughly and had shared his views at different platforms several times. Mr. Bharat had been rewarded with various awards and citations by both Government and other institutions for the services rendered by him in the field of medicinal plants. Some among the Prominent awards/citations received by Mr.Bharat had been the 'Udyog Mitra' in 1975 through Hona'ble President of India, 'Udyamshree Shield and Certificate' through the President of India in 1976 and the 'Rajat Patra' through The Director General of M.P.Council of Science and Technology in Feb 1999 for his contribution in the area of Etheno Botanical Survey of Traditional Plants and for creating a database of Medicinal Plants of India .

At the age of 86, Mr. Bharat is still actively involved in spreading the knowledge of Medicinal Plants in the society, by attending conferences and training classes at various places. A resident of Thakur Road,Jagdalpur, Mr. Bharat and his family is involved in serving the needy by free treatment/consultancy with the thorough knowledge they have about the medicinal plants.
