About Livelihood College

Livelihood College has come into being with the formal inaguration of First Batch of Training on Solar Power Plant Installation Repair & Maintenance by Honourable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Raman Singh on 28/09/2011.

A suitable building with sufficient rooms for conducting residential training classes has been allocated by the District Administration at the District Head Quarters within a distance of o.75 KMs from the Collectorate Building for the Livelihood College.

Objective of the College is to conduct residential training classes for the youth of the District in different trades such as Electrician, Plumber, Raj Mistri etc. Apart from these traditional trades youth of the District are also planned to be provided job oriented certificate courses in computers and the skills of installing and repairing of solar power plants.

College will also play a catalyst role in ensuring better employment opportunities to the trained youth by conducting campus selections and encouraging the youth to make use of any Self-Employment opportunities.

Similarly Livelihood College also aims to bridge up the existing "Skill Drain" in the District with the trained local youth.

Under the skilful guidance of the District Collector resources are being channelized for running the Livelihood College successfully. A few courses have already been conducted successfully in the College yielding very encouraging results.

Livelihood College thus is going to play a vital role in guiding and nourishing the local youth while leading them to a pleasant future through employment opportunities.
